About the Role:
The Substitute Preschool Teacher is a valued member of the early education teaching team, assisting the regular teaching staff with curriculum implementation, student supervision and continuity of care for students. They are responsible for supporting the regular teaching staff with moving the students through the daily schedule and curriculum and assisting with behavior management and student supervision. Candidates for this position must possess a love of nature and teaching outdoors with children ranging in ages 3 to 6 years. Substitute teachers are expected to join the class outside, aid in their investigations and support their play. Substitute staff work closely with the fulltime teaching team to help deliver age-appropriate curriculum with hands on investigations and exploration. Substitute teachers help with most aspects of the daily routine and help maintain classroom behavior management that reflects Mass Audubon’s philosophy and policies.
